Crow Mountain Crafts Lanolin Balm 2oz

Each 2oz airtight container is filled with solid lanolin and available in a number of yummy scents.

Crow Mountain Crafts Lanolin Balm is made with 100% pure lanolin and only the highest quality fragrance oils.

Lanolin is found in nature in the wool of sheep and is known to have remarkable water repealing qualities. Lanolin is the perfect moisturizer for dry or chapped skin. Never use scented wool products on sensitive skin. Lanolin added to wool yarns and other woolen items helps to put the natural water repellent back into the item. Remember that a little goes a long way when lanolizing your wool. You only need a pea size amount for most wool items.

How to lanolize your wool:

  • Add a pea size drop of Lanolin to a cup of water in a microwave safe container.
  • Heat for about 1 minute in 30 second intervals.
  • Add a few drops of baby shampoo or liquid soap.
  • Stir the mixture together.
  • Add the mixture to your wash basin full of water and allow to cool to room temperature.
  • Turn your wool items inside out and submerge in water for at least 1 hour.
  • Swish around the wool to evenly distribute lanolin.
  • Remove your wool and roll into a clean dry towel to remove excess moisture. Lay flat or hang to dry.

We do not recommend our lanolin for use on skin due to the addition of fragrance oils.

Yummy and effective
This smells delicious! I did find that I needed to use more than recommended to get enough lanolization (is that a word?). It was also difficult to get dissolved in the water but when it came down to it, it worked. I use this as my lanolin every time I need to wash my wool

LOve!!
Crow Mtn Crafts wool products are awesome! I have used them for over a year, and have not switched to any other brand! It does an excellent job of waterproofing the thickest of wool, and leaves such a pleasant scent. I use this with soap base to make wool wash that is very lanolin rich for my night wool. You will be very happy with this product!
